Sometimes, the best decks are the decks that you don't even expect to see. Typically, people are too occupied with playing with one of the newer and more popular decks, that they forget all about how good the old deck can be. That or certain changes were made to the ban list, and people abandoned the deck, assuming it was bad. All I can say is it can come back to haunt you!
With that said, we're going to look at 5 underrated decks. From least, to most underrated. You'd be surprised on what you'd find on here! Well. Here we go.
#5: Photon Beat: We did discuss earlier about this deck. You just wanna be like "WTF! Scrub!" if you see your opponent drop a Photon Crusher and set 3 backrow. Truth is, beatsticks win this format. Believe it or not, it's one of the most stable decks in the game! It can handle Banishing cards as well as Skill Drain. Any deck that can do that is really good! You'd be pretty shocked on what it's good against. It has a huge potential of beating Rabbit! If you can find your scrap Photon cards laying around, turn them into a deck! You'd be surprised of the result! Not to mention, very cheap!
#4: Infernity: Yeah. Infernity Launcher is at 1. So what? Considering that Wind-Up loops are still lerking around, I'm loving how some Xyz's like Leviair the Sea Dragon are really helping this deck win! Anytime you have 3 Infernity Barriers face down, you're almost probable to win that game. It really does take serious preperation to beat an Infernity deck. Tell you the truth, Shadow Imprisoning Mirror isn't enough to win. Draw it too late, and you're bound to lose. Lets just hope Barrier gets reprinted in the next Gold Series, so that we can all make our own Infernity decks, and we'll finally realize how underrated this beast of a deck is!
#3: Flamvells: Did we not forget about Flamvells? Anytime you can get a free Level 8 Synchro just for destroying a monster by battle, we're looking at some underrated stuff! Rekindling is also a very tough Spell to deal with. It's up to 2 Synchro's per activation! I love decks that have the ability to Synchro without much effort. Not to mention Flamvell Firedog is a 1900 ATK beatstick, which can eliminate the majority of the meta's early monsters! If you have them, try Tour Guides and Xyz's in this deck! You won't believe the result!
#2: Agents: I've been told this many times. "Agents are bad. Use something else." Well how about be more prepared for it, THEN call it bad! With everyone temporarily abandoning Leeching the Lights, it's almost certain that we call this deck underrated. Think about it. Turn 1 Gachi Gachi is still very possible. Only 1 Earth? No problem. Replace with 2 Jupiters and still play your Tour Guide engine. For T.G. Agent Users, play 1-2 Rush Rhino for replacement for Striker(s). Herald of Orange Light is also very nice for negating ANY effect and destroying them. Not to mention, Archlord Kristya can win you a game or two. Try it! You just might win a local tournament with it!
So what's the most underrated deck this format?
#1: Machina Gadgets: My adventure to Raleigh had made me really make this an underrated deck. If you're looking for a deck to defeat the entire meta, this is the deck for you! Anytime you face a Machina Fortress, you're having to think before you act. It's really good against Inzektors, Wind-Up's, Rabbit, and Six-Samurai. Although it's very common that we're prepared for decks like this with cards such as Cyber Dragon, it won't help too much considering how the backrow can cause problems. Not to mention with the Gadgets, you're almost certain to have a monster in hand every turn! Going to say this. It's one of the most annoying decks to play against! If you're not careful, you'll lose control of the game very quickly.
If anything, make these decks on Dueling Network, and win with them. Next topic I talk about will be comparing DN with real life playtesting. Enjoy your reading eye candy and have a good night!
